Nov. 22, 2009: Groucho, Jacques & Benny on Merv

I added 19 ads today from May, June and July 1976. The channel 2 gallery has two, one for a special on the rising cost of health care called Matter of Life: Another Day, Another $100,000 and one for Zane Grey's "Western Union." The channel 7 gallery has one for two 7:30 game shows, Let's Make a Deal and The Price is Right and the channel 9 gallery has another one for Showtime. The channel 50 gallery has three ads for The Merv Griffin Show, one with Groucho Marx, one with Jacques Cousteau and one with Benny Goodman and two ads for Dinah!, one with Barry Goldwater and one with Minnie Pearl and Jim Nabors. The channel 50 movie gallery has seven new ads, all but two for Bill Kennedy at the Movies. The BK ads are for "Rhapsody in Blue," "A Star is Born," Bette Davis Week, "Mr. Roberts" and "Rebel Without a Cause." The other two ads are for "In Love and War" on the Saturday night Movie at Eight and for the Late Movie presentation of "Jim Thorpe, All- American" with Burt Lancaster. The PBS gallery has two ads for Nova on channel 56. One for 'Inside the Shark' and the other for 'The Case of the Bermuda Triangle.' The last ad is for 'Scoutacular 76' at Pontiac Stadium (Silverdome) in the Other Vintage Ads gallery. More ads from the Summer of 1976 are coming...
