February 21, 2016: John Waynesdays

There are nine more ads today, from the January 30 - February 5, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from February 2 & 3, 1999 editions of The Blade, plus one Random Pages gallery addition, a Sunday, 1/31/99 TV Guide Magazine page with some early morning listings and a "close-up" for an Andy Griffith Show Marathon on TBS. A picture of Jim Nabors and Andy Griffith from the Everett Collection is included. There are five additions, all from TV Guide, to the FOX gallery starting with a two-page color ad for The X-Files (5 years of questions...the complete conspiracy on FX...2 nights of answers...all-new two-part episode on Fox). The Fox episodes were "Two Fathers" and "One Son" (Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny). There's also a larger version. Next is a full-page color ad for The TV Guide Awards (America's biggest awards show!). There are also two 1/31/99 "Super Bowl Sunday" ads, a full-page ad (all day Super Bowl Blowout!). By the way, Denver defeated Atlanta, 34-19 (Super Bowl XXXIII). You'll also find a two-page ad for the post-Super Bowl premiere of Family Guy, "Death Has a Shadow" and The Simpsons episode, "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday." I also included the two "close-up" descriptions. There's also a larger version. And there's another ad for The TV Guide Awards, a Monday, 2/1/99 full-page ad. There's one addition, from TV Guide, to the PBS gallery, a Monday, 2/1/99 ad, on two pages, for I'll Make Me a World: A Century of African-American Arts. There's also a larger version. There are two additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, both from Peach Sections of The Blade. The first one is a Tuesday, 2/2/99 ad for "Nightjohn" on the Disney Channel, the second one is a Wednesday, 2/3/99 ad for John Waynesdays on AMC, featuring the movie, "McQ" that evening. Today's last ad, from TV Guide, is an addition to the Vintage Cable Ads gallery, a Sunday, 1/31/99 ad for MTV's Celebrity Deathbowl '99 which was shown during halftime of Super Bowl XXXIII. More ads, from the January 30 - February 5, 1999 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from the online archives of The Toledo Blade are on the way...
