September 10, 2015: The Fabulous '50s

There are eight more ads today, from the June 20-26, 1998 issue of TV Guide Magazine, and from June 23 & 24, 1998 editions of The Blade, plus two Random Pages gallery additions starting with a page from TV Guide Magazine with The Robins Report (by J. Max Robins). It featured two stories, "Aykroyd Won't Sell His Soul to UPN" and "Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye," about the 1998 series finales of four different series. There's also a Monday, 6/22/98 Blade Peach Section story by Chris Borrelli, "Ch. 11 Finds News in Viewer Concerns." There's one addition to the PBS gallery, a Sunday, 6/21/98 TV Guide ad for Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly, hosted by Bob Abernathy. There are two additions, from The Blade, to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, beginning with a Tuesday, 6/23/98 Peach Section ad (Make Us a Part of Your Summer!...America's Health Network (Ask the Pediatrician), The Family Channel, A&E, The History Channel, and AMC. There's also a Wednesday, 6/24/98 Sports Section ad for a Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago Cubs game on Fox Sports Detroit (Detroit Tigers on Buckeye CableSystem!). There are three additions, from TV Guide, to the Vintage Cable Ads gallery starting with a Saturday, 6/20/98 full-page ad for Live in Vienna: Elton John & Billy Joel on HBO. Next is a Sunday, 6/21/98 ad for Biography: The Fabulous '50s which featured the biographies of Ozzie and Harriet Nelson (and Ricky and David), Donna Reed, Ernie Kovacs, Arthur Godfrey, and Annette Funicello. There's also a Monday, 6/22/98 ad, on two pages and two "close-ups" for Monday night Comedy Central shows, the fifth season premiere of Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist, "Old Man" and the series premiere of Bob and Margaret, "A Tale of Two Dentists." Today's last two ads are additions, from TV Guide, to the Other Vintage ads gallery starting with a color ad for America Online (Tonight, check out a few of our channels). The other one is a Sunday, 6/21/98 full page ad for the CaP CURE Home Run Challenge, sponsored by Fox Sports (The home runs I hit won't count without you."--Mark McGuire).
