December 27, 2015: The Best Lineup of the Week

There are ten more ads today, from December 12, 1998 - January 1, 1999 issues of TV Guide Magazine and from December 26 & 31, 1998 editions of The Blade, plus one Random Pages gallery addition, a Monday, 12/21/98 Blade Peach Section story, "Sweeps Bring Stations Good News." Due to the poor quality of the source material, I omitted some of the original article from what you see in this image. There's also an item about WTOL's Janis Lane. There are two additions, from Peach Sections of The Blade, to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery starting with a Saturday, 12/26/98 ad for "The Manchurian Candidate" on AMC, followed by a Thursday, 12/31/98 ad for The USA Original Pictures Megamarathon which featured "My Husband's Secret Life," "The Con," "Dirty Little Secret," "His Bodyguard," and "Atomic Dog." The rest of today's ads are from TV Guide Magazine, starting with seven additions to the Vintage Cable Ads gallery. The first one is a full-page color ad from the 12/12-18/98 issue for "The Best Lineup of the week" on TLC which featured the best of Trauma, The Human Sexes, Superstructures, Wild Weather, Doomsday and more, followed by three more full-page ads. There's a Monday, 12/14/98 ad for "High Tech Week" on Modern Marvels on the History Channel, a Tuesday, 12/15/98 ad for HBO's America Undercover, "Life of Crime 2," and a Sunday, 12/20/98 ad for a USA Network marathon of The Net (Brooke Langton). There's also a Sunday, 12/27/98 ad for The E! True Hollywood Story, "Three's Company" (Suzanne Somers, Joyce DeWitt, John Ritter), followed by a Monday, 12/28/98 full-page ad for A&E's Biography (Who will be Biography of the year?), and a Thursday, 12/31/98 ad for a marathon of Homicide: Life on the Street (Court TV will commit 24 Homicides on New Year's Day.) Today's last ad is an addition to the TBS gallery, a Saturday, 12/12/98 ad for 15 Days of 007 on TBS, featuring "Dr. No" and "Moonraker" that evening. That will be it for this year's images. I'll post some 1999 ads in 2016 but will not post anything newer than that and instead of posting three days a week the additions will be coming less often. So stay tuned in 2016 for 1999 ads from the pages of TV Guide Magazine and from the online archives of The Toledo Blade...
