Nov. 24, 2015: Talking Turkey: This Year's Thanksgiving Ads

There are fifteen more ads today, all additions to the Thanksgiving ads gallery. Today's ads are from 1996-1998 starting with a Wednesday, 11/27/96 Blade Peach Section ad for Thanksgiving Movie Mania on TNT. Next is an ad from the November 15-21, 1997 issue of TV Guide, a Thursday, 11/20/98 (one week before Thanksiving) full-page ad for the "NBC Thanksgiving Thursday" lineup of Friends, The One with Chandler in the Box," Union Square, "Jack Gets a Hot Tip," Seinfeld, "The Betrayl" and Veronica's Closet, "Veronica's First Thanksgiving." Next are two ads from the November 22-28, 1997 issue of TV Guide, a Monday 11/24/97 ad with Lee Conklin and Susan Ross Wells (13 Action News is Talking Turkey!), followed by a Wednesday, 11/26/97 ad for Beavis and Butt-head Do Thanksgiving, with Kurt Loder from MTV's Times Square Studio, followed by a Thursday, 11/27/97 Blade Peach Section ad for a marathon of Bob Hope movies on AMC ("Thanks"giving For The Memories). The next four ads are also from the November 22-28, 1997 issue of TV Guide Magazine, all Thursday, 11/27/97 ads. The first ad (and "close-up") is for the Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions game on Fox, the second ad is for The X-Files Viewers' Choice Marathon on FX, the third ad is for "Miracle on 34th Street" on Fox, and the fourth ad is for "Jurassic Park" on NBC (All-you-can-eat Thanksgiving!). There's one ad from the November 14-20, 1998 issue of TV Guide Magazine, a Thursday, 11/19/98 ad (again, one week before Thanksgiving), on two pages, for Friends, "The One with all the Thanksgivings," Jesse, "The Cheese Ship," Frasier, "The Seal Who Came to Dinner" and Veronica's Closet, "Thanksgiving That Keeps on Giving" (Thanksgiving Thursday!). And there are five ads from the November 21-27, 1998 issue of TV Guide Magazine, starting with a Monday, 11/23/98 ad, on two pages, for Cosby, "Turkey Day," The King of Queens, "Supermarket Story" and Everybody Loves Raymond, "No Fat" (Something funny happened on the way to Thanksgiving!). Next are four Thursday, 11/26/98 ads, starting with a full-page ad for a Thanksgiving Day marathon of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess on USA Network (Forget Football. Watch some real heavy hitting this Thanksgiving). Next is a half-page ad for The All-American Thanksgiving Parade on CBS (Kevin James, Catherine Bell), followed by another full-page ad, for The X-Files Secret Ballot Marathon on FX. Today's last ad is one more full-page ad, for the CBS Special Thanksgiving Day presentation of "Grumpy Old Men" (Jack Lemmon, Ann-Margret, Walter Matthau).
