October 29, 2015: MonsterFest

You'll find ten more additions to the Halloween Ads gallery, today, from the October 24-30 and October 31 - November 6, 1998 issues of TV Guide Magazine, and from the October 30, 1998 edition of The Blade. The first five are from TV Guide, starting with a Sunday, 10/25/98 ad for an ABC Halloween Movie Event, "Casper," followed by a Thursday, 10/29/98 3/4 page ad and Sunday, 10/25/98 "close-up" for The Simpsons, "Treehouse of Horror IX" and two repeat episodes. At press time there was a possibilty that a seventh game in the World Series would be shown on Sunday night. It wasn't needed, so The Simpsons would air on both Sunday and Thursday. Next is another 10/29/98 ad, for the ER Halloween episode, "Masquerade," followed by a Friday, 10/30/98 ad, on two pages, for It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Garfield's Halloween Adventure, on CBS. There's another 10/30/98 ad, for AMC's Hollywood Ghost Stories, hosted by William Shatner, part of their "MonsterFest" programming for Halloween. There are two Friday 10/30/98 ads from The Blade, a Living Section ad for Terrortown at the Lucas County Fairgrounds, and a Peach Section ad for AMC's MonsterFest: House of Horrors. The remaining three ads are from TV Guide, all Saturday, 10/31/98 ads, starting with an ABC ad for Boo! to you, Winnie the Pooh, followed by an AMC ad for MonsterFest, hosted by Tim Burton (a festival of classic monster movies!, and a Fox two-part, page-and-a-half ad, for MAD-TV and Kiss Live: The Ultimate Halloween Party! (Halloween Screams on Fox). And that's it for this year's Halloween ads.
