September 24, 2013: Let's Go to the Hoop!

 

I added just five more ads today, all from December 1988, plus five more Random Pages gallery additions from Peach Sections of The Blade. The first one is a Friday, 12/9/88 story, “Ch. 27 Back, But Fund Raiser Hurt.” The rest are all by Tom Ensign, including a couple of Thursday, 12/15/88 items about Channel 24. Next is a Thursday, 12/29/88 story, “Channel 11 Bringing Local News, Weather to Early-Morning Time Slot,” which also includes an item on Channel 13's George Zabrecky, followed by a Friday, 12/30/88 story, “Low-Powered TV Station Slated to Start in March” and also includes a Channel 11 item at the end. The low-powered station was Toledo's W48AP. The last one is a Saturday, 12/31/88 story, “CableSystem Adds Ch. 4, 3 Pay-Per-View Services” and also includes a look at Channel 24 schedule changes. There are four additions to the PBS gallery, all for Channel 30. There's a Wednesday, 12/7/88 ad for Pearl Harbor Day Viewer's Choice. Viewers had to choose two of four movies to watch that evening from the following WWII films, “The Fighting Seabees,” “Wake Island,” “Flying Tigers” and “Blood on the Sun.” Next is a Thursday, 12/8/88 ad for Mystery! The Return of Sherlock Holmes II, “The Hound of the Baskervilles.” There's also a Friday, 12/9/88 ad for the movie, “The Caine Mutiny” and a Saturday, 12/17/88 ad for European Journal (Neil Lundy, Shellie Karabell). Today's last ad is an addition to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Sunday, 12/17/88 TV Tab ad for CableSystem basketball games, on ESPN, PASS, SuperStation TBS, USA Network and Channel 5A.
