August 25, 2013: Congrats to TV13

I added eighteen more ads today, from September and October 1987, including two for Channel 13's 40th Anniversary, one from Channel 11 and one from K100 & WTOD, plus three Random Pages gallery additions from The Blade. There's a Thursday, 10/22/87 Peach Section item by Tom Ensign, on changes to the Fox lineups on Saturday and Sunday nights. Next is a Friday, 10/23/87 story, by Roberta de Boer, on the front page of the second news section, “Radio Stations At TU, Toledo Schools Seeking To Share Same Spot On Dial.” The story includes a photo by Herral Long of Capucine Dickerson. I believe she went on to be a Toledo Public School teacher. There's also a Friday, 10/30/87 Peach Section story, again by Tom Ensign, “Sue Parcell Joins Ch. 11 As Co-Anchor.” There are three additions to the Channel 11 gallery, including a Friday, 9/25/87 ad for Family Ties, which would have it's syndication premiere on the following Monday, The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, and CBS prime time shows, Dallas, “After the Fall: Ewings Arise” and “After the Fall: Digger Redux,” and Beauty and the Beast, “Once Upon a Time in the City of New York” and also, Toledo 11 News Nightwatch, and late night show, Comedy Club. Next is a Monday, 9/28/87 ad for Family Ties (Michael J. Fox, Justine Bateman, Michael Gross, Meredith Baxter-Birney, Tina Yothers, Brian Bonsell). And the last one is a Tuesday, 10/13/87 ad, congratualting TV13 on their 40th anniversary (We love you...We love you not...We love you). There's one addition to the Channel 36 gallery, a Sunday, 9/27/87 TV Tab ad for Throb, “The Spa” (Diana Canova). There are seven additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, including a Friday, 9/25/87 ad for Remington Steele on CBN, followed by a Sunday, 9/27/87 Toledo Magazine full-page ad with a $4.95 installation offer. Next is a Friday, 10/2/87 ad for Weekend Weather on the Weather Channel, followed by a Sunday, 10/4/87 ad for a free preview of the Movie Channel, featuring the Chuck Norris film, “Invasion USA.” There's also a Friday, 10/9/87 ad for a free preview of Showtime, featuring “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” and the special, Elayne Boosler—Broadway Baby (Showtime has the hits HBO misses). Remember, this was before HBO was available on The CableSystem. There's a Friday, 10/16/87 ad for the NFL on ESPN, plus Lifetime, A&E, the Weather Channel, channel 9 from Windsor and channel 27 from Bowling Green, and the last one is a Wednesday, 10/28/87 ad for “La Cage au Folles” on USA. There are two additions to the Radio Station Ads gallery, both for WKKO-FM 99.9 and WTOD-AM 1560. There's a Wednesday, 10/7/87 ad for Mitch and Mary Beth's “Birthday Bonanza” contest and a Monday, 10/12/87 ad, congratualating TV 13 “on 40 years of broadcast excellence.” There are also five additions to the Other Vintage ads gallery, including a Thursday, 10/8/87 ad for the 14th Annual Midwest Clown Convention at Westgate Village Shopping Center.
