July 14, 2013: George's Garden

I got my computer back yesterday afternoon with a new motherboard and all is well once again. I added fifteen ads today, all from July 1986 plus one Random Pages gallery addition, a Wednesday, 7/2/86 Blade Peach Section story by Tom Ensign, “Channels 13, 11 Garner Divisional Emmy Awards” and also includes other “Around Toledo Television” items. One of the emmy winning programs was the channel 11 Patches and Pockets special, “Kids Have Rights, Too!” with Beverly Schwind and Sue Donner. There are two additions to the Channel 13 News gallery, a Wednesday, 7/2/86 ad with Stan Stachak, Jerry Anderson, Jeannine Lauber and Neil Hartman, and a Monday, 7/7/86 ad for the “George's Garden” segment (George Zabrecky). There's another 13 News ad, the one addition to the News/Special Reports Ads gallery, a Wednesday, 7/9/86 ad for the Brenda Hines series of “One Tank Trip” reports. There are four additions to the Channel 36 gallery, all for movies. There's a Friday, 7/11/86 ad for “Up the Creek” and three more for “John Wayne Week,” a Monday, 7/14/86 ad for “El Dorado,” a Tuesday, 7/15/86 ad for “Rooster Cogburn,” and a Wednesday, 7/16/86 ad for “The Sons of Katie Elder.” There's one addition to the PBS gallery for channel 30, a Monday, 7/7/86 ad for Words Worth, “Light Verse,” produced by Michael Denison, BGSU. There are four additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, including a Wednesday, 7/1/86 ad for Wrestlemania II on Showtime. There's also a Monday, 7/7/86 ad for The Blade Classified ads on CableSystem Channel 13A, and a Wednesday, 7/9/86 ad for “Prizzi's Honor” on The Movie Channel.

The last one is a Wednesday, 7/16/86 ad for a UT Channel 10B special, The 1986 Jamie Farr LPGA Golf Classic Report, hosted by Jerry Keil and Jud Silverman. There's also one addition to the TBS gallery, a Sunday, 7/6/86 full-page TV Tab ad for The Goodwill Games.

The last two ads today are additions to the Other Vintage ads gallery, both full-page ads. The first one is a Monday, 7/7/86 ad for free discount coupons at Food Town stores for several area “Family Fun” attractions: Greenfield Village, Vollmar's Park, Sauder Farm, The Mud Hens, The Bluebird Passengertrain, The Sandpiper and the Wolcott Musuem complex.

The other one is a Tuesday, 7/8/86 ad for Libbey-Owens-Ford, about to change their name to Trinova. More July 1986 ads, from the online archives of The Toledo Blade are on the way...
