I added twenty more ads today from May and June 1984, seven of them for the opening of Portside Festival Market Place in Toledo. There are also three Random Pages gallery additions. First is a Thursday, 6/7/84 Blade Peach Section story by Tom Gearhart, “Channels 30, 57 Honored For Program, Producer” and also includes items about Danny Thomas and WDHO-TV reporter, Griff Potter. Next is a Sunday, 6/10/84 Blade TV Tab story, “Ch. 30 Goes 'Entertainment” During The Summer Months,” which includes an Ingrid Bergman picture. The third one is a Saturday, 6/30/84 Blade Peach Section story by Seymour Rothman, “Deregulation No Big Deal, TV Football No Small Deal.” There's one addition to the Channel 11 gallery, a Sunday, 5/13/84 ad (Toledo 11 Welcomes Portside). There are five additions to the News/Special Reports Ads gallery, three for channel 11 and two for channel 13. There's a Monday, 5/14/84 ad for a Deborah Baker report, “Portside: Will It Work Here?” followed by a Tuesday, 5/15/84 ad for Portside Premiere, a Toledo Eleven News special report with Jeff Heitz and Jill Olmsted. There's also a Monday, 5/21/84 ad for a Deborah Foggio series of reports on “Shaping Up...1980's Style.” The other two are for 13 Strong News, a Monday, 5/14/84 ad for a Brenda Hines report, “Portside: The Festival Begins” and a Monday, 5/21/84 ad for a Gordon Ward series of reports, “The Age Old Question.” There's one addition to the PBS gallery, a Monday, 6/11/84 ad for Right From the Start on channel 30. There are two additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Friday, 6/15/84 ad for Blade channels 11 and 13 (Blade ads can be very productive!) and a Sunday, 6/17/84 ad for an appearance by Mickey Mouse and friends at Crosby Gardens Festival of the Arts. There are also two additions to the CableSystem Channel 5 gallery, a Monday, 5/21/84 ad for the Stroh's Championship Boxing Tournament, and a Wednesday, 6/27/84 ad for a Columbus Clippers vs. Toledo Mud Hens game. There's one addition to the Radio Station Ads gallery, a Thursday, 6/7/84 ad for “Toledo's Hottest Hits” on WRQN-FM 93.5. There are also eight additions to the Other Vintage ads gallery, including three more Portside ads. The first one is a Sunday, 5/13/84 two-page ad for Kroger (Congratulations Toledo on Your Unique Portside Marketplace). Next are two Thursday, 5/17/84 full-page ads, the first ad for The Lathrop Company. The second ad read, “Let's go down to Portside”…“A Festival Marketplace”). There's also a Tuesday, 5/15/84 ad for AAA and American Express Travelers Cheques (Karl Malden) followed by a Thursday, 5/17/84 ad for The Buckeye and Wolverine Shop. Next is a Friday, 5/18/84 ad for Coors Draft (Coming to Toledo Monday May 21) followed by a Sunday, 6/10/84 full-page ad for Sohio ProCare. Today's last ad is a Friday, 6/15/84 ad for Hills Department Stores (Buy ColecoVision...get a Cabbage Patch Kid Free!). July 1984 ads from the online archives of The Toledo Blade, including some for the first Jamie Farr Toledo Classic golf tournament at Glengarry Country Club, are on the way...
