I added 27 more ads today from May, 1981, plus two more Random Pages gallery additions, from Peach Sections of The Blade. There's a Saturday, 5/9/81 story by Seymour Rothman, “The Tigers, Television, And Toledo” and two Friday, 5/15/81 items by Norman Dresser, about CNN going over 6 million subscribers on 1,000 cable systems, and about WCWA carrying Notre Dame football games instead of Ohio State games, which WOHO began carrying. There's one addition to the Channel 11 News gallery, a Saturday, 5/16/81 ad for their weekend news with Bob Lawrence, Jack Mitchell and Dan Cummins. There are also three more channel 11 ads among the four additions to the News/Special Reports Ads gallery, two of them for Hotline, a Friday, 5/1/81 ad with Bob Lawrence, hosting a program on fair housing practices in Toledo, and a Saturday, 5/10/81 ad for a program about “Battered Wives.” There's also a Monday, 5/18/81 ad for a Jim Proctor Toledo Eleven News series, “Behind the News.” The other addition to that gallery is three ads (Monday, 5/18/81, Tuesday, 5/19/81 & Thursday, 5/21/81) for a Bill Harris 13 Nightly News series of reports, “Home $weet Home.” There are also two additions to the Channel 13 News gallery, including a Friday, 5/1/81 ad for the 13 News team (Randy Price, Frank Venner, John Gillespie, Stan Stachak, Frank Gilhooley, Gordon Ward, Mike O'Mara, Jerry Anderson, Paula Harris, Brenda Hines, Jim Mengel, Bill Harris, Jim Rudes, Norm Wagy). The other one is a Tuesday, 5/7/81 ad for their Washington Bureau (Norm Wagy). And there are also three additions to the Channel 13 gallery, all Saturday ads for The 13 Sunday Night Movie, a 5/2/81 ad for “Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor), a 5/9/81 ad for “Klute” (Jane Fonda), and a 5/16/81 ad for “Bang the Drum Slowly” (Michael Moriarity). There's one addition to the Channel 24 gallery, a Monday, 5/11/81 ad for Hour Magazine (Gary Collins). There are two additions to the PBS gallery, for weekend shows on channel 30, a Saturday, 5/9/81 ad for Rhapsody and Song and the movie, “Yolanda and the Thief,” and a Sunday, 5/10/81 ad for a National Geographic Special, “Gorilla” and part one of Cousteau Odyssey, “The Nile.” There's one addition to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Friday, 5/8/81 ad that was part of a Better Business Bureau supplement. There are six additions to the Radio Station Ads gallery, two for WOHO, a Friday, 5/1/81 ad for Call-For-Law, sponsored by the Toledo Bar Association, and a Monday, 5/11/81 ad for “Psy-ca-ton 1981” on The Corey Dietz Show. The other four are all for WGTE-FM, a Saturday, 5/2/81 ad for A Prairie Home Companion, a Tuesday, 5/5/81 ad (Great Favorites), a Wednesday, 5/6/81 ad (Great New Recordings) and a Thursday, 5/7/81 ad (Great Gilbert & Sullivan).

 

There are also three additions to the Other Vintage ads gallery, a Sunday, 5/3/81 ad for Toledo Edison, a Sunday, 5/10/81 TV Tab ad for Radio Shack's Computerama '81, the TRS-80 “computer show of the decade,” and another 5/10/81 TV Tab ad, for Tri-Star Communications' Satellite TV.
