November 12, 2013: Toledo's Funny Home Videos

You'll find five additional ads today, from May and June 1990, plus six more Random Pages gallery additions from the pages of The Blade, starting with two by Tom Ensign, in the Peach Section. First is a Friday, 5/18/90 story, “Buddy Ray Retires as CEO of WTVG; Lee Assumes Post.” Next are two Wednesday, 5/30/90 items, about the CableSystem starting to carry the Ha! network and free HBO programming via Impulse, and Wendy Sheridan moving from WKKO to WWWM. There's a Saturday, 6/2/90 story by Jack Baessler, “NLRB Complaint Targets WTOL-TV, followed by a Sunday, 6/3/90 story by Margaret Farnham, “Stupid DJ Tricks” (in two images), image one from the Entertainment Section cover, and image two, the continuation of the story. There's also a Thursday, 6/7/90 Peach Section story by Tom Ensign, “WGTE Tightens its Fiscal Belt, but the Ship's Not Sinking” and also includes an item on the Children's Miracle Network Telethon. There's one addition to the PBS gallery, a Friday, 5/18/90 ad for the movie, “The Bridge on the River Kwai” (Alec Guiness, William Holden), on channel 30. There's also one addition to the the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Friday, 6/1/90 ad for HBO, free on Impulse. There's one addition to the ToledoVision 5 gallery, too, a Friday, 5/18/90 ad for Toledo's Funny Home Videos, with Steve Mason and Tom Ensign. The ad in the archives was in really bad condition, so I had to find other pics to use and do some guessing on how it should look, so it may be slightly different from the original. The last two ads today are additions to the Other Vintage ads gallery, including a Friday, 5/18/90 ad for Tony Packo's Cafe. It's similar to the last two Packo's ads, here and here. And there's a Tuesday, 6/5/90 ad for Coca-Cola Classic MagiCans. More June 1990 ads, from the online archives of The Toledo Blade are on the way...
