October 29, 2013: The Best of the Season

 

I added eleven more ads today, all from December, 1989, plus one Random Pages gallery addition, a Sunday, 12/3/89 TV Tab cover story by Tom Ensign, “TV's Staci Keanan Joins in Toledo Holiday Spirit.” Included are three Lee Merkle photos of the My Two Dads star. There are six additions to the PBS gallery, all of them “The Best of the Season” ads for Channel 30. The first one is a Friday, 12/1/89 ad for the Bette Davis movie, “All About Eve.” Next is a Saturday, 12/2/89 ad for Kenny Rogers in Concert and the Elvis Presley movie, “Kid Galahad,” followed by Monday, 12/5/89 ad for Nova, “Yellowstone's Burning Questions.” There's also a Wednesday, 12/6/89 ad for The Story of John Phillips and the Mamas and the Papas: Straight Shooter. The other two are both for movies, a Thursday, 12/7/89 ad for “Tora! Tora! Tora!, and a Friday, 12/8/89 ad for “Some Like it Hot” (Marilyn Monroe). There's one addition to the Channel 48 gallery, a Monday, 12/4/89 ad for Stress Line, “Select a Medical Insurance Plan.” There are two additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, a Friday, 12/1/89 ad for the third Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Roberto Duran fight on December 7, on Impulse pay-per-view, and a Sunday, 12/3/89 TV Tab ad for Ready Steady Go!, on the Disney Channel. Today's last two ads are additions to the Radio Station Ads gallery, including a Friday, 12/1/89 ad for the 50th anniversary season of Texaco and the Met, including the 1989-90 schedule of programs, broacast on WGTE-FM. There's also a Thursday, 12/7/89 ad for Mason and Diane on WRQN-FM 93.5. Also, don't forget, it's the season to visit the Halloween Ads gallery and the Sci-Fi & Horror Movies gallery.
