January 7, 2013: Goaldigger Gets the Gold

 

I added twelve ads today, all from November, 1980 plus two more Random Pages gallery additions from Peach Sections of The Blade, both by Norman Dresser. The first one is a Thursday, 11/20/80 “About People, Events in the Broadcasting World” and the other one is a Wednesday, 11/26/80 story, “'Dallas' Wins Top Audience in History” and also includes an item on local TV station revenues. There are three additions to the Channel 11 gallery, including a Tuesday, 11/25/80 ad for PM Magazine (Mike Eruzione). Next is a Wednesday, 11/26/80 ad for The Richard Simmons Show. Much of the text in this ad was missing or barely readable so I had to guess what some of it was when I edited it. I hope I got it right, The last one is a Saturday, 11/29/80 ad for the movie, “Tom Jones” on In the Balcony at the Bijou. There are also two additions to the Channel 11 News gallery, both of them “I put my trust in the news people” ads, a Monday, 11/17/80 ad and a Tuesday, 11/18/80 ad. There's one more in the News/Special Reports Ads gallery, a Monday, 11/24/80 ad for a Bob Lawrence series of Toledo Eleven News reports, “Heroes are People Too.” There are four additions to the PBS gallery, all for channel 30. There are two for Powerhouse, a Wednesday, 11/19/80 ad and a Thursday, 11/29/80 ad. Next is a Wednesday, 11/26/80 ad for Adoption in Toledo, a local follow-up program to Adoption in America. There's also a Saturday, 11/29/80 ad for That Great American Gospel Sound and the movies, “Girl Crazy,” “Good News” and “Anchors Aweigh.” There's one addition to the Radio Station Ads gallery, a Tuesday, 11/18/80 ad for Ed Knowles on WOHO-AM and WXEZ-FM. Today's last addition is to the Other Vintage ads gallery, a Wednesday, 11/19/80 ad for The Commodore Perry banquet and meeting rooms.
