I added seventeen more ads today from June, July and August, 1978 plus seven more Random Pages gallery additions, all Blade Peach Section stories by Norman Dresser. There are three Wednesday, 6/7/78 stories, “Small City of Fort Wayne Supports Four TV Stations,” “Ch. 30 Given Award For Community Service” and “Assistant News Chief Named At WSPD Radio,” about Mary Jane Klein. There are two Thursday, 7/20/78 stories, “New Entertainment Service Offered By Buckeye Cable,” about Showtime, and “New Anchorman Named To Replace Little At Ch. 11” about Randy Parlett replacing Randy Little, Jim Proctor's promotion and the hiring of Jill Olmstead. There are five 7/25/78 stories, “Toledo Public Broadcasters Will Offer Music Series,” “Cost of Rerun Series Is Escalating Rapidly,” “Ch. 2 in Detroit Signs Pact For Lions' Telecasts,” “Ch. 50 To Broadcast Detroit Hockey Games” and “WGTE-FM To Offer Reading Service Series.” There are two Friday, 8/4/78 stories, “Ch. 30 To Join Nationwide Space Satellite Link In Fall” and “Bowling Green's Ch. 57 Joins Satellite System.” There are two 8/10/78 stories, “Ch. 24 To Telecast 4-Hour Version Of Irwin Shaw Book,” about the Operation Prime-Time program, Evening In Byzantium and “Fall Late-Night Roster Firmed Up By CBS-TV.” There are four Wednesday, 8/16/78 stories, “Broadcasters Lose Appeal To FCC On Cable Activity,” “WCWA Radio To Carry Three Football Series,” “WCWA Broadcasting 'Larry King Show'” and “Ch. 2's 'PM Magazine' To Make Bow Sept. 18.” There are two Thursday, 8/16/78 stories, “Ch. 30 To Present 10 Nights Of 'Summerfest '78' Specials” and “WSPD Radio Receives Programming Award.” There's one addition to the Channel 11 gallery, a Thursday, 6/22/78 ad for The Ordination of Reverend James R. There's also just one addition to the Channel 13 gallery, a Thursday, 8/10/78 ad for The Ohio Lottery Show. There are two additions to the PBS gallery, both for channel 30, a Friday, 6/9/78 ad for Wall Street Week/Toledo (Louis Rukeyser) and a Monday, 8/14/78 half-page ad for Live...From Wolf Trap (Sarah Vaughan, Tex Beneke, Pete Seeger, Chcuk Mangione, Leonard Bernstein). I'll ad more ads for that series next time. There are three additions to the Buckeye CableSystem gallery, all for their “Spend a Month Free With The CableSystem” Sweepstakes, a Wednesday, 7/7/78 ad, a Monday, 8/7/78 ad and a Thursday, 8/10/78 ad (winners John S. Wesynski, Audra Mason, Craig Mollison), There's one addition to the Radio Station Ads gallery, a Tuesday, 8/8/78 ad for WSPD-AM 1370 (Barbra Streisand, Carol Channing, Ella Fitzgerald, Liza Minelli). The remaining nine ads are all in the Other Vintage ads gallery, including a Tuesday, 6/13/78 ad for Churchill's Supermarkets and a Friday, 6/16/78 ad for the opening of the Gemini Rollercoaster at Cedar Point. Next are two ads for the 12th Annual American Cancer Society Golf Exhibition at Inverness in Toledo, a Friday, 6/23/78 Pabst Blue Ribbon ad (Byron Nelson, Tommy Bolt, Billy Casper, Jack Fleck, Ed Furgol, Lou Graham, Orville Moody, Ken Venturi) and a Wednesday, 6/28/78 ad, with the American Cancer Society appoligizing for the rained-out event. There's also a Thursday, 6/29/78 ad for a 50th birthday party for Mickey Mouse at Franklin Park Mall, and a Friday, 7/7/78 ad for TV Ears. Next is a Friday, 8/4/78 ad for Morey Amsterdam's appearance at Friar Tuck's, followed by a Wednesday, 8/9/78 ad for Pringle's (Roy Clark). And finally, there's a Friday, 8/11/78 ad for a Hickory Farms offer to help fight Muscular Dystrophy (Jerry Lewis).
