July 30, 2012: Family Viewing Means Family Fun

 

I added 22 more ads today, from November and December 1976, plus five more Random Pages gallery additions, including a Saturday, 11/20/76 Radio Sports Guide and a Saturday, 11/27/76 story, “'Lincoln Center' To Feature Andre Watts.” Next is a Tuesday, 11/30/76 story by Norman Dresser, about WKLR's Person to Person program. There's also a Saturday, 12/4/76 story by Seymour Rothman, “WSPD-TV Basketball Debut Not DeBerries,” followed by a Thursday, 12/16/76 story, again by Norman Dresser, “Programming Changes Affect Personell At 2 Radio Stations” which also includes an item on WDHO not carrying ABC's “Victory at Entebbe” movie. There are two additions to the Channel 11 gallery, including a Monday, 11/22/76 ad for their “Family Viewing” shows, The Brady Bunch, My Three Sons, $100,000 Name That Tune, The Price Is Right and Wild Kingdom. There's also a Wednesday, 12/8/76 ad for a college basketball game with the undefeated Bowling Green Falcons hosting the Cincinnati Bearcats. There are two more in the Channel 11 News gallery, a Wednesday, 11/24/76 ad (Judy Crouse) and a Monday, 11/29/76 ad (Jim Proctor, Orris Tabner, Joe Ashton, Jeff Heitz). There are two additions to the Channel 13 gallery, too, a Monday, 11/22/76 ad for The Phil Donahue Show and a Wednesday, 12/8/76 ad that reminded viewers of the previous week's telecast of the first Rockets game at Centennial Hall, where Toledo beat Indiana (Jim Mengel, Frank Gilhooley). First is a Friday, 11/26/76 ad for ABC's All-Star Tribute to John Wayne, sponsored by Sears, followed by a Saturday, 12/18/76 ad for the 1976 Toledo Jaycee TV Auction. There are five additions to the PBS gallery, four of them for Channel 30. First is a Saturday, 11/20/76 ad for their Saturday night replay of the Michigan at Ohio State football game. This is the first of three ads for that game that Michigan won, 22-0. There's also a Wednesday, 11/24/76 ad for The MacNeil-Lehrer Report, a Tuesday, 12/7/76 ad for the National Geographic Special, “Treasure!” and a Thursday, 12/9/76 ad for A Living Exhibition, an art auction to benefit WGTE-FM. There's also a Thursday, 12/9/76 WBGU-TV 57 ad, for a special, Maumee Valley Environmental Town Meeting, also broadcast on WSPD-AM 1370. There are two additions to the Buckeye Channel 5 gallery, a Saturday, 11/20/76 ad for their Sunday night replay of the Michigan vs, Ohio State football game, and a Wedmesday, 11/24/76 ad for the movie, “Peege.” There are four additions to the Radio Station Ads gallery, including a Saturday, 11/20/76 ad for WTOD's live coverage of the above mentioned Michgan vs, Ohio State game. Next is a Saturday, 11/27/76 ad for Teatro alla Scala on WGTE-FM, followed by a Friday, 12/10/76 Texaco ad for their live broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera House, on WGTE-FM and WOSU-AM. There's also a Tuesday, 12/14/76 ad for WPOS-FM. Today's last three ads are all in the Other Vintage ads gallery, including a Wednesday, 12/1/76 ad for Ohio Bell. There's also a Friday, 12/17/76 ad for a Toledo Goaldiggers / Coca-Cola / WCWA-WIOT contest to win a “Denimachine” van. And there's a Sunday, 12/26/76 ad for Highland Appliance (KERCHUNK).
