August 31, 2011: Eleven Mary Six, Call the Station

Back in July, I received a request from Zachrie Coryden for some ads and listings for the premieres of Police Story on 9/25/73, Police Woman on 9/13/74 and Joe Forrester 9/9/75. First, the original pilot movie for Police Story aired on 3/23/73, but I didn't have that TV Guide so I posted the 9/25/73 listing pages for the repeat. I also posted the 10/2/73 full-page ad for NBC's Tuesday night shows, Chase "The Winning Ticket," The Magician "The Manhunters" (series premiere with Bill Bixby) and Police Story "Dangerous Games" (series premiere with James Farentino). The program listing for the Police Story series premiere is here. For more information on Police Story check Museum of Broadcast Communications and wikipedia. I also posted the 9/13/74 ad and program listing for the series premiere of Police Woman (Angie Dickinson, Earl Holliman). I did not have the issue with the 9/9/75 premiere of Joe Forrester. Both of the above ads are in the the NBC gallery and the above program listings are in in the Random Pages gallery. I also received some scans from Chris Sobieniak from two 1976 Blade Peach Sections. I'm posting 14 ads that I edited from thoses scans plus a Norman Dresser column, also in the Random Pages gallery. It's a 3/4/76 report on Channel 30's "Festival '76" along with items on Channel 11 hiring Judy Crouse and Robert Sharp and the sale of Adrian radio station WABJ. In the Channel 13 gallery is a Tuesday, 2/17/76 ad for daytime shows, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman (Louise Lasser), The Noon Report (Jim Rudes, Nanci Riley) and Dinah! (Dinah Shore). In the Channel 24 gallery is a Thursday, 3/4/76 ad for The Ohio Lottery TV Show. In the Buckeye CableVision gallery is a Tuesday, 2/17/76 CableSystem ad for You Bet Your Life on WKBD-TV 50 and in the ToledoVision 5 gallery is a 3/4/76 ad for the Cary Grant movie "Penny Serenade." The rest of today's ads are all in the the Other Vintage ads gallery. The first five are from 2/17/76. There's a White Hut ad, an Uncle John's Pancake House ad, an Ohio Skate Roller Skating Centers ad, a Tony Packo's Huingarian Hot Dogs ad and a Ramada Inn ad. The last five are from 3/4/76. There's a Frisch's Big Boy ad, a Dunkin' Donuts ad, a Radio Shack ad for a CB antenna sale, a Little Caesar's ad and a Toledo Goaldiggers ad for games against the Flint Generals and Fort Wayne Comets at the Sports Arena. More 1962 ads from the online archives of The Toledo Blade are on the way...
