Today I added 21 more ads from the summer of '67, plus 2 more items from The Blade in the Random Pages gallery. There's a Sunday, 8/20/67 story on WBGU-TV 70's fall plans and a Thursday, 8/24/67 item on Channel 50's plan to boost its power to 1 million watts. There are seven ads in the Channel 11 gallery including a Tuesday, 7/11/67 ad for NBC's coverage of the 38th MLB All-Star Game from Anaheim and an NBC News Special "Khrushchev in Exile." There's also a Monday, 7/24/67 ad for part 2 of The Swinging Sounds of Expo '67, a Saturday, 8/5/67 ad for NBC's coverage of the Western Open Golf Tournament and a Friday, 8/11/67 ad (Serving the Great Maumee Valley from Toledo...). Next is a Thursday, 8/17/67 ad for an NBC special, An Evening at Tanglweood, a Wednesday, 8/23/67 ad for Dragnet on NBC (Jack Webb) and a Thursday, 8/24/67 ad for two shows, State Fair 1967 (syndicated to Ohio stations) and again, NBC's Dragnet "The Big Bullet" (Jack Webb, Harry Morgan). The series, now seen on channel 11, had been carried by channel 24. There are two more in the Channel 11 News gallery, a Wednesday, 7/26/67 ad and a Wednesday, 8/16/67 ad and there's one more in the News/Special Reports Ads gallery, a Tuesday, 8/22/67 ad for the CBS News special, Who, What, When, Where, Why "The Hippie Temptation" with Harry Reasoner. It aired against part one of the two-part series finale of The Fugitive on ABC. I also included the TV Highlights descriptions of both shows. There are no channel 13 ads today, but there are two ads for movies in the Channel 24 gallery. There's a Tuesday, 7/11/67 ad for four movies (on the night of the All-Star Game), "The Last Gunfight," "Devil at 4 O'Clock," "The Running Man" and "Sutter's Gold" and a Friday, 7/14/67 ad for "The Interns." There's one ad in the ABC gallery, a Friday, 8/18/67 McDonald's ad for The 1967 Boy Scout Jamboree narrated by Jimmy Stewart. It was carried by channel 7 in Detroit. There's one ad in the Radio Station Ads gallery, a Monday, 8/14/67 ad for On the Bench with the Browns on WTTO-AM 1520. The ad used a picture of Jim Nabors and Frank Sutton in their Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. roles. There are seven more ads in the Other Vintage ads gallery, including a Tuesday, 7/11/67 ad for Detroit's Ambassador Bridge, as the way to go to Expo '67 in Montreal. Next is another 7/11/67 ad, this one for Stroh's Beer with the turn-off cap, followed by a Friday, 7/21/67 full-page ad for RCA, a Monday, 7/31/67 ad for the Electronic Computer Programming Institute (Help stamp out G.I.G.O.), a 7/31/67 P.S.A. (Don't burn debris on dry windy days), a Friday, 8/4/67 full-page ad for Lamson's "Stage a 'Drive-In'" at Toledo's Star Lite Drive-In and a Thursday 8/10/67 full-page ad for Jack Nicklaus vs. Doug Sanders, in person at Sylvania Country Club (and Sharon Moran).
