November 25, 2011: Get Ready to Rockford

 

Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, I only have 16 new additions today, all from September, 1996. There's one in the Random Pages gallery, a Thursday, 9/19/96 TV Guide page with a close-up for four NBC shows: Friends "The One with the Princess Leia Fantasy" (Jennifer Aniston), The Single Guy "Mounted Cop" (Jonathan Silverman), Seinfeld "The Foundation" (Jason Alexander) and Suddenly Susan "First Episode" (Brooke Shields). There are three in the ABC gallery, a Monday, 9/19/96 ad for The Greatest Sports Moments of All Time (Al Michaels, Nadia Comaneci), a Tuesday, 9/17/96 ad for Roseanne "Call Waiting" (Roseanne, John Goodman), Life's Work "Pilot" (Lisa Ann Walter), Home Improvement "At Sea" (Tim Allen) and Spin City "Pilot" (Michael J. Fox) and a Wednesday, 9/18/96 ad for Ellen "Give Me Equity or Give Me Death (Ellen Degeneres), Townies "Townies" (Jenna Elfman, Molly Ringwald, Lauren Graham), Grace Under Fire "This Sold House" (Brett Butler) and The Drew Carey Show "We'll Remember Always, Evaluation Day." There are five in the CBS gallery including three Monday, 9/16/96 ads. The first ad is for the series premieres of Cosby (Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad) and Pearl (Rhea Perlman, Malcolm McDowell), the second ad is for Murphy Brown "Executive Decision" (Candice Bergen, Lily Tomlin) and Cybill "Bringing Home the Bacon" (Cybill Shepherd, Christine Baranski). The third ad is for the third season premiere of Chicago Hope, "Out of Africa" (Hector Elizondo, Adam Arkin, Christine Lahti). Next is a Tuesday, 9/17/96 ad for the series premiere of Promised Land, "The Expatriate" (Gerald McRaney, Wendy Phillips, Celeste Holm, Austin O'Brien, Sarah Schaub, Eddie Karr) and a Wednesday, 9/18/96 ad for "The Rockford Files: Pinishment and Crime" (James Garner, Kathryn Harold). There are also five in the NBC gallery including a Tuesday, 9/17/96 two-page ad for Mad About You "Dr. Wonderful" (Helen Hunt, Paul Reiser), Something So Right "Pilot," Frasier "The Two Mrs. Cranes" and Caroline in the City "Caroline and the Younger Man." There's also a Wednesday, 9/18/96 two-page ad for Wings "Porno for Pyros," The John Larroquette Show "Untying the Knot," Newsradio "President" and the series premiere of Men Behaving Badly, "Babies Having Babies" (Ron Eldard, Rob Schneider) and another 9/18/96 ad for Carey Lowell's first Law & Order episode, "Causa Mortis." The last of today's ads is in the WB gallery, a Monday, 9/16/96 ad for a rerun of the first 7th Heaven episode, "Anything You Want" (Catherine Hicks, Stephen Collins).
