September 15, 2010: Premiere Week (1990)

I added 21 more ads today from September and October 1990, most of them for series premieres and season premieres. There are eight ads in the CBS gallery, one for two animated specials, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Tiny Toon Adventures: The Looney Beginning (requested), a full-page ad for CBS Saturday morning shows, a full-page ad for the 60 Minutes 23rd season premiere, a full-page ad for the Major Dad second season premiere episode "Safe at First Base" (Gerald McRaney, Shanna Reed, Marissa Ryan, Nicole Dubuc, Chelsea Hartford), an ad for the Murphy Brown third-season premiere episode "The 390th Broadcast" (Grant Shaud, Joe Regalbuto, Charles Kimbrough, Candice Bergen, Robert Pastorelli, Faith Ford), a full-page ad for the two-hour series premiere of The Flash, a full-page ad for the Evening Shade series premiere "A Day in the Life of Wood Newton" (Charles Durning, Burt Reynolds, Hal Holbrook, Ossie Davis, Marilu Henner, Elizabeth Ashley, Michael Jeter) and a full-page ad for the CBS News Special "Mike Wallace: Then and Now." There are two (both on two pages) in the FOX gallery, one for the Get a Life series premiere episode "Terror on the Hell Loop 2000" (Chris Elliott) and one for the Beverly Hills 90210 series premiere episode "Class of Beverly Hills" (Carol Potter, James Eckhouse, Jason Priestly, Shannen Doherty). There are six in the NBC gallery, a two-page ad for NBC Saturday morning shows, one for NFL Live (Bob Costas, O.J. Simpson, Will McDonough, Mike Dikta) which was followed by an NFL doubleheader, a three-page ad for the Fresh Prince of Bel Air series premiere episode "The Fresh Prince Project" (Will Smith and cast), a full-page ad and TV Guide close-up description for Bob Hope's Don't Shoot It's Only Me, a two-page ad for Monday night shows, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air episode "Bang the Drum, Ashley" and the Ferris Bueller episode "Behind Every Dirtbag" (Charlie Schlatter, Richard Riehle) and a two-page ad for the Thursday night season premieres of The Cosby Show ("Same Time Next Year"), A Different World ("Everything Must Change") and Cheers ("Love is a Really, Really, PerfRightectly Okay Thing"). There's a full-page ad in the PBS gallery for the premiere of Ken Burns' The Civil War and there are three in the Vintage Cable Ads Gallery, an ESPN ad for NFL GameDay, NFL PrimeTime and Sunday Night Baseball (Cardinals vs. Cubs), a Lifetime ad for evening shows L.A. Law, The Lifetime Evening Movie, The Tracey Ullman Show and The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd and a TV Guide announcement that the magazine now has listings for American Movie Classics and Ha!
