July 19, 2010: The JFK Assassination 25th Anniversary

I added another 21 ads today, all from November 1988 as well as a TV Guide page in the Random Pages gallery. It's a Tuesday 11/22/88 page with a close-up description for A&E's 25th anniversary replay of NBC's coverage of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. There are six ads in the CBS gallery, two full-page ads for daytime soaps Guiding Light (Robert Newman, Kim Zimmer) and As the World Turns (William Fichtner, Jennifer Ashe), one for The Price is Right (Bob Barker, Dian Parkinson), a two-page ad for Monday night shows Murphy Brown (Candice Bergen) and Designing Women (Delta Burke, Jean Smart, Annie Potts, Dixie Carter), an ad and close-up description for the CBS Reports special "Four Days in November: The Assassination of President Kennedy" (Dan Rather) and a full-page ad for the Beauty and the Beast episode "Chamber Music" (Ron Perlman, Linda Hamilton). There's a full-page ad in the NBC gallery for the World Premiere Movie "The Goddess of Love" (Vanna White) and there's one in the Vintage Cable Ads gallery for The Learning Channel (Glenn Close, Justin Wilson, Wally "Famous" Amos). There are eleven ads in the TBS gallery. There are two ads for the mini-series "Kennedy" (Blair Brown, Martin Sheen), a full-page ad for part one and

There's one for National Geographic Explorer (Missing in Action) and two ads for the NBA on TBS, one for a a Tuesday night game with the Lakers playing the Knicks (Patrick Ewing) and one for two Wednesday night games with the Nuggets playing the Mavericks and the Bulls playing the Clippers (Mark Aguirre). There are another six movie ads for "King Solomon's Mines" (Stewart Granger), "Ice Pirates" (Mary Crosby, Robert Urich), the colorized version of "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo" (Robert Mitchum), "How the West Was Won," shown in six hours on Award Theatre (James Arness), "Torpedo Run" (Glenn Ford) and "The Poseidon Adventure" (Stella Stevens, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Albertson, Shelley Winters, Red Buttons, Carol Lynley, Pamela Sue Martin, Eric Shea). There are two more in the Ohio & W. Pennsylvania gallery. One is a WHIO-TV ad for The Cosby Show and Newscenter 7 and the other one is a WLIO-TV35 ad for their live news reports.
