Feb. 7, 2010: See Our Music!

I added 16 ads today from July, August and September 1983. The ABC gallery has two ads, one for the first USFL Championship game (The Michigan Panthers beat the Philadelphia Stars 24-22) and one for daytime shows Benson (Robert Guillaume), Loving (Susan Walters) and Family Feud (Richard Dawson). The CBS gallery also has two, one for morning game show Press Your Luck (Peter Tomarken) and one for the premiere of AfterMASH (William Christopher, Harry Morgan, Jamie Farr and Barbara Townsend as Mildred Potter). AfterMASH did well during the first season on Monday nights but was killed in year two by The A Team on Tuesday nights (see wikipedia page here). The NBC gallery has four ads, one for Friday Night Videos (Michael Jackson, Elton John & Rick Springfield), one for the premiere of NBC News at Sunrise (Connie Chung), one for morning game show Sale of the Century (Jim Perry) and a two-page ad for the premiere of the short-lived series For Love and Honor (Rachel Ticotin, Shelley Smith, Cliff Potts, Yaphet Kotto). The PBS gallery has one for the premiere of The MacNeil / Lehrer Newshour (Robert MacNeil & Jim Lehrer) and the Vintage Cable Ads gallery has one for You Can Be a Star on The Nashville Network. The TBS gallery has two, one for Starcade and one for "For the Love of Benji" on Bristol Myers Theater. The Other Vintage Ads gallery has four, one for NEC VCRs (it looks big and heavy) and three Budweiser ads: "4th of July Pop," "USFL, Bring out your best" and "Help Budweiser help Jerry's kids." More from the fall of '83 are on the way...
