October 3, 2010: The Last Halloween

 

I added 24 more ads today from September, October and November, 1991. The ABC gallery has four, one for the series premiere of Step by Step (Suzanne Somers, Patrick Duffy) one on two pages for the series premiere of The Commish (Michael Chiklis), a full-page ad for the ABC Sunday Night Movie "Keeping Secrets" (Suzanne Somers) and one for Good and Evil (Teri Garr). There are four more in the CBS gallery, a full-page ad for the first Brooklyn Bridge, episode "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" (Marion Ross), a full-page ad for 60 Minutes: The Entertainers (two-hour special), and two ads for Halloween specials, one for The Last Halloween (Richard Moll, Rhea Perlman) and one for a repeat of the 1966 Peanuts special, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The Fox Gallery has three ads, one on two pages for The Simpsons episode "Stark Raving Dad," a full-page ad for the first Drexell's Class episode "Otis' Last Day" (Dabney Coleman) and a full-page ad and TV Guide close-up for the special, Ray Charles: Fifty Years of Music (Paul McCartney, Gloria Estefan, Quincy Jones, Randy Travis, Michael Bolton, Stevie Wonder, Bill Cosby, MC Hammer). There are eight ads in the NBC gallery, one for the Seinfeld episode "The Note" (Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus), one for the Sisters second season premiere episode "One to Grow On" (Julianne Phillips, Patricia Kalember, Swoosie Kurtz, Sela Ward), a full-page ad for "Wild Texas Wind" (Dolly Parton), two for Reasonable Doubts, a full-page ad for the pilot episode and another one for the second episode "Hard Bargains" (Marlee Matlin, Mark Harmon), a full-page ad and TV Guide close-up for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson: 29th Anniversary, an ad and TV Guide close-up for the special, Funny Women of Television (Lucille Ball, Candice Bergen, Betty White, Marlo Thomas, Mary Tyler Moore, Tracey Ullman, Jasmine Guy, Carol Burnett, Lily Tomlin) and one for Real Life with Jane Pauley (Candice Bergen). There's one in the PBS gallery for the return of Sneak Previews to channels 27 and 30 (Jeffrey Lions, Michael Medved) There are four in the Vintage Cable Ads gallery, two CNBC ads for The Real Story, a TNN ad for Nashville Now (Kenny Rogers) and a TV Guide announcement that they were carrying listings for Comedy Central.
