Jan 24, 2010: Don't Settle For Any Old "10"

I added 19 ads today from October and November 1981. The channel 7 gallery has three ads, one for That's Hollywood, one for The People's Court and one for Where Were You? (Ronald Reagan). The channel 50 gallery has one for M*A*S*H at 11PM (followed by Sanford and Son at 11:30) with a picture of Alan Alda, Mike Farrell, Jamie Farr, David Ogden Stiers, William Christopher, Gary Burghoff, Harry Morgan and Loretta Swit and the channel 50 movie gallery has five more 8 O'Clock Movie ads for "The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz" (Richard Dreyfus), "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (The Bee Gees), "Alfie" (Michael Caine, Shelley Winters), "The Bridge at Remagen" (Robert Vaughn & Ben Gazzara) and "The Killer Elite" (James Caan & Robert Duvall). The ABC gallery has three, one for the premiere of The Fall Guy (Lee Majors), one for Thursday night shows Mork & Mindy (Robin Williams & Pam Dawber), Best of the West (Carlene Watkins, Joel Higgins, Leonard Frey & Meeno Peluce), Barney Miller (Hal Linden, Steve Landesberg, Max Gail & Ron Glass) and Taxi (Judd Hirsch, Danny DeVito & Christopher Lloyd) and one for Tuesday night shows Happy Days (Henry Winkler, Robin Dearden & Ted McGinley), Laverne & Shirley (Penny Marshall & Cindy Williams), Three's Company (Priscilla Barnes, John Ritter & Joyce DeWitt), Too Close for Comfort (Lydia Cornell & Ted Knight) and Hart to Hart (Robert Wagner & Stefanie Powers). The ad makes sense because CBS showed the Bo Derek movie "10" that night from 8:30-11:00 PM. The CBS gallery has two ads, one for the movie "Sunburn" (Farrah Fawcett) and one for the series premiere of Simon & Simon (Jameson Parker, Gerald McRaney & Jeannie Wilson). The NBC gallery has three, one for the second season premiere of the Emmy-winning Hill Street Blues (Ed Marinaro, Betty Thomas, Joe Spano, James B. Sikking, Taurean Blaque, Rene Enriquez, Bruce Weitz, Michael Conrad, Barbara Bosson, Daniel J. Travanti, Veronica Hamel, Michael Warren), one for a special, Bob Hope's Stand Up and Cheer For the National Football League's 60th Year (Betty White, Howard Cosell, Olivia Newton-John, George Gobel, Barbara Mandrell, Susan Anton, Michael Conrad, Elizabeth Taylor, & O.J. Simpson) and one for another special, Sinatra: The Man and his Music (Frank Sinatra). The PBS gallery has one for A Matter of Life and Death: The Vietnam Veteran and the Vintage Cable ads gallery has one for Cinemax. More from November and December 1981 and January 1982 are on the way...
