July 2, 2009

I added 20 more ads today, all from November 1982. There are five additions to the News/Special Reports page from WXYZ and WTVG. The three from channel 7 are for stories on measuring local TV ratings (Rich Fisher), mothers-in-law (Erik Smith) and good business news in Michigan (Gordon Graham). The two channel 13 ads are for November sweeps reports including reports by Jim Rudes, Brenda Hines and Mike O'Mara. There's an ad for J.P. (McCarthy) on the channel 2 page and a two-page ad for Good Afternoon, Detroit with John Kelly and Marilyn Turner on the channel 7 page. You'll find yet another PM Magazine ad on the channel 11 page. There are three more channel 24 ads for The People's Court, Siskel & Ebert at the Movies and Jim Smith's You Asked For It. There are two Pistons ads and one Red Wings ad on the channel 50 page along with an ad for the premiere of the syndicated Smiley's People with Alec Guiness. There are also two more ads on the channel 50 movie page, one for "The Pink Panther" and "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" and the other for "In the Heat of the Night" with Sidney Poitier. I also added two more ads on the NBC page for SCTV Network and the November 1982 Thursday night shows. You can also find an ad for the Great American Train Show at the Michigan State Fairgrounds on the Other Vintage Ads page. Among what's coming up: ads from the 1982 holiday season.
